Financial Inclusion: Implication on Per Capita Income in Nigeria

This study examines the interplay of deposit money banks (DMBs) activities as a link between financial inclusion and economic growth per capita. To achieve objective study, deposits mobilised in rural urban areas, credit disbursed to were explored establish for higher level hierarchy. postulates that occurs at primary, secondary, tertiary hierarchical levels. Time series data from Central Bank Nigeria (CBN) statistical bulletin World Financial Indicator 33 years (1982 – 2018) gathered link. Descriptive analysis, Johansen cointegration, vector error correction mechanism (VECM), ordinary least squares regression tools used estimation techniques. Findings show although mobilisation areas are statistically significant explaining capita thereby fulfilling primary contrary expectations, not growth. A long-run relationship was also established.
